JAC Motors releases 2020 production and sales plan
JAC Motors expects the combined production and sales of its complete vehicles and chassis to reach 450,000 to 500,000 in 2020, according to a filing from the company on December 11. The target is 50,000 to 100,000 less than that of this year. The document also suggests it is an initial goal from the management, which needs final approval by the company's board of directors.
The Anhui-based state-run automaker manufactured and sold 34,286 units and 33,265 units respectively in November. In the first eleven months, the production amounted to 387,420 units, down by 10.49% year on year while the cumulative sales slid 10.29% to 386,783 units over the year-ago period. Of that, the BEV (battery electric vehicles) sales from Jan. to Nov. were a highlight with a year-on-year growth of 5.09% to 55,163 units.
In light of the automaker’s strategic plan by 2020, it aims to be stronger in the CV (commercial vehicles) segment and make high-quality PVs (passenger vehicles). The development of NEV (new energy segment) is included as well. Its PV segment will enter into the 3.0 era with such new models as the Jiayue A5, the Refine S4, the S7 and the S5. Besides, JAC expects the NEV sales to comprise 20% of the total in 2020 and plans to offer 10 NEV models by 2021.
