SAIC Volkswagen’s MEB plant in Anting said to produce Audi Q4 e-tron SUVs
SAIC Volkswagen, the automobile joint venture between China's state-owned SAIC Motor and German auto giant Volkswagen Group, is going to see its MEB plant in Anting Town, Shanghai start trial production in November this year, according to local media outlets.
Besides, we also got the news that the initial preparation phase for mass producing Audi-branded A+ segment electric SUVs is set to be fulfilled at the Anting plant this year.
The aforesaid A+ segment electric SUV is said to be the Audi Q4 e-tron, Audi's first MEB platform-based EV model, an inside person from Audi AG revealed at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show kicking off in March.
The China-made Q4 e-tron may features a NEDC-rated range exceeding 500km based on the 450-km-plus range in line with the WLTP standard for its concept model. 
The Audi Q4 e-tron concept is a compact four-door SUV whose relation to the Audi e-tron is apparent at first glance, while boasts a more sporty and dynamic design in headlights and bumper. As to the side profile, the concept adopts a fastback design.
The Q4 e-tron concept measures 4,590mm long, 1,900mm wide and 2,770 tall with a wheelbase spanning 2,770mm, making the model positioned between the Audi Q3 and the Q5.
At the rear end, the tailight cluster stretches across the tailgate, which is quite trendy for now.
According to Audi's introduction, the Audi Q4 e-tron concept has an asynchronous motor at the front and a permanent magnet motor at the rear, mobilizing 225kW of system power. As is the driving power of the concept vehicle is brought to the road with quattro all-wheel drive. It is able to sprint from zero to 100km/h in just 6.3 seconds. It can reach a maximum speed at an electronically limited 180km/h. A large battery with a capacity of 82 kilowatt hours takes up almost the entire space in the underbody area between the axles.
