Top 10 China’s locally-produced PV, car, SUV models by Oct. wholesale volume
In October, China's automakers sold a total of 1,928,673 locally-produced PVs (referring to cars, MPVs, SUVs and minibuses), failing to achieve year-on-year increase during the period which is conventionally regarded as a peak season for car sale, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Year-to-date PV wholesales volume totaled 17,119,056 units, dropping 10.8% over the prior-year period.
China's Vehicle Inventory Alert Index (VIA), which reflects the inventory pressure of automobile dealers, stood at 62.4% last month, which dropped 4.5 percentage points over the year-ago period, while rose by 3.8 percentage points from a month ago. The VIA had exceeded an official warning threshold for 22 consecutive months as of October.
There were six car models on the top 10 PV model list by Oct. wholesale volume, two models less than that of September. Aside from the frequenter Haval H6, the Changan CS75 and the Tayon SUVs were new entrants to the top 10 PV list. Besides, the Hongguang was still the only MPV model, dropping one place to the seventh compared with September.
The hottest-selling SUV model, the Haval H6, posted a contracted decrease of 1.2% with its Oct. sales exceeding 40,000 units.
Among the top 10 SUV models by the Oct. wholesale volume, there were six models gained year-on-year increase, of which four models got double-digit growth.
The Changan CS75 was promoted to the runner-up place with a remarkable increase of 68% as the CS75 PLUS hit the market in September. The Tayron boasted a marvelous growth of 553.5% partly due to its small base for year-ago period.
The Honda CR-V, featuring a double-digit growth as well, outperformed the X-TRAIL with its merit in hybrid models.
